Green Initiative
Environment protection has always been one of the goals of Sarmang Adventure Tours, keeping the same in mind Sarmang Dehradun Marathon is coming up with various initiatives for environment protection,waste reduction,waste management and spreading the awareness among the team, volunteers, runners and spectators.
100% e-Registrations
To reduce the use of paper during the entire event and save trees, all the registration will be done online. There will be no offline registrations. Runners need not print the booking ticket to collect BIB or to enter the race venue, runners can show the booking ticket on their mobile phones.
No Plastic Bags for Goodies
No plastic bag for goodies, cotton/jute/paper bags will be used instead.
No Wrapping of T-Shirts in Poly Sheets
T-shirts will be ordered in bulk and delivered without any polythene. No t-shirt will be wrapped in poly sheets.
Bicycle Parking
Special parking for runners coming on bicycle will be provided to encourage runners to commute to the venue on bicycle
E-Rickshaw for runners to reach venue
E-rickshaw will be available for runners to reach the race venue.
Waste segregation bins
Separate waste bins for dry, wet, medical and electronic waste will be provided at the start, finish and on the course of the marathon.
Used t-shirt & shoes donation
Special stalls for collection for used t-shirts and shoes will be provided at race expo and race venue.
Leftover food delivery
The leftover food of the marathon will be delivered immediately after the completion of maraton to the needy with the help of charitable organisations
Used flex Distribution
All the flex used in the marathon will be distributed to the needy to make mats or be used as shelter.
Plastic bottle recycle
All the 250ml water bottles will be collected by the volunteers and provided to a waste management company for recycling.
